Todd and Tricia Rosenbaum Cause of Death: Wanatah Couple Remembered for Their Love, Family and Farming Legacy

The Wanatah community is mourning the loss of Todd and Tricia Rosenbaum, a beloved couple who passed away side by side on Thursday evening, August 27, 2026, at the age of 60. Their passing has left their family, friends and community grieving the loss of two people who built a life centered on family, faith, farming and the simple joys they shared together.

Todd Arnold “Rosie” Rosenbaum and Patricia Jean “Tricia” Rosenbaum had spent more than three decades building a life together. Married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wanatah on September 3, 1994, they remained devoted partners through the many seasons of their lives.

Their final moments were especially poignant. The couple passed away together as they were preparing to build their dream cabin, complete with a wraparound porch overlooking their fully stocked pond and a field where fireflies filled the evenings. For those who knew them, the dream reflected the kind of life they had always cherished — close to the land, surrounded by family and enjoying the beauty of the place they called home.

Todd was born June 25, 1966, in LaPorte to the late Arnold and Nancy (Tofte) Rosenbaum. A 1984 graduate of LaCrosse High School, he attended Southwestern Michigan College, where he played basketball, and later earned certificates from Purdue University.

Farming was more than Todd’s occupation; it was part of his identity. A fourth-generation lifelong farmer, he proudly referred to himself as an “Agricultural Engineer.” He worked tirelessly on the family farm through rain, sunshine and illness, eventually becoming the owner of Circle R Farm and Hoosier Quality Meats with Tricia.

The couple also raised Rosenbaum show cattle and show pigs, continuing a farming tradition that meant so much to Todd. Away from the farm, he enjoyed Purdue basketball, John Deere equipment, his grandchildren and his beloved dog, Diesel.

Tricia was born February 7, 1966, in Michigan City to the late Garland Raymond and Shirley (Ridge) Weaver. She attended Elston High School before graduating from Mark Keppel High School in Monterey Park, California, in 1984.

After earning her real estate license through McColly School of Real Estate, Tricia spent approximately 30 years working as a real estate insurance agent. Following retirement, she returned to farming full time alongside Todd, embracing the work of feeding cattle and tending the fields.

For Tricia, family was at the heart of everything. She treasured time with her grandchildren, reading her Bible, sitting beside the pond and taking anniversary trips with Todd to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She was also a member of the Wanatah American Legion Post 403 and served on the Cass Township Board.

Todd and Tricia were remembered not only for their dedication to their work but also for the personality and humor they brought to their relationship. During their years together, they enjoyed CB radios and went by the handles “Aqua” and “Cow Pie Patty.”

Their greatest joy, however, came from their children and grandchildren. They are survived by their children, Alexandria Bucher, Jillian Rosenbaum, and Jonathan (Lauren) Rosenbaum, along with five grandchildren: Laken Blasko, Bane Bucher, Adilynn and Ireland Garrison, and Vaeda Rosenbaum, who lovingly knew them as “Nana” and “Papa.”

Todd is also survived by his sisters, Michelle (Joe) Dyjak and Renee (Joe) Rudolph, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tricia is survived by her siblings, Terry (Donna) Manley and Kristina (Donald O’Brien) Marshall, along with many nieces and nephews.

Todd was remembered as a hardworking and strong-willed family man, while Tricia was described as a devout Christian with a heart of gold. Together, they leaves behind a legacy reflected in their children, grandchildren, family traditions and the many lives they touched.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Wanatah American Legion Post 403, 203 S. Washington St., Wanatah. A funeral service will follow Friday, September 4, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. beforehand.

Todd and Tricia Rosenbaum will be remembered not simply as husband and wife, but as partners who shared their work, faith, dreams and love of family. Their lives were deeply intertwined with the land they cared for and the people they loved, and their memory will continue through the family and community they leave behind.
